Earring Care

Polymer clay is a lightweight, durable material. However your earrings should still be handled gently and with care.

Earrings that include detailed floral work should be handled with extra precaution, as the delicateness of each handcrafted petal can cause the design to be more fragile.

If dropped or stored incorrectly your earrings could become damaged or break.

The best way to store your earrings is organized on a jewelry rack or earring stand.

Do not get your clay earrings wet unless it has a resin coating.

Avoid extreme heat.

Avoid using chemicals, perfume, jewelry cleaners, etc. on your earrings.

If dirty you can use a soft, damp cloth with soap or a q-tip with acetone to gently wipe the surface. Do NOT use acetone on painted pieces, resin pieces, or dark colored pieces, as this can ruin your earrings.

If your earrings are resin coated use a baby wipe to gently wipe the surface.

Brass will tarnish. The oxygen in the air, water, oil, perfume, make-up, etc, all of these elements can cause brass findings to oxidize and tarnish.

To remove tarnish you can clean your brass findings with ketchup, a mixture of water and vinegar, lime juice and baking soda, or a designated cleaner such as Brasso.
